August Alsina “Lonely” Video

August Alsina “Lonely” Video

Following visuals for “Drugs” and “Wait,” August Alsina delivers the Amber Gray-directed video for his latest single, “Lonely.”

Singing and dancing in a bodega, the New Orleans crooner serenades shoppers and employees down each aisle. In the midst of all the perishables and canned goods (Alsin-os, anyone?), he comes across elders, a milk-drinking beauty, an employee, and a couple of dancers looking for groceries.

“Lonely,” which samples Bobby Womack’s “If You Think You’re Lonely Now,” arrives ahead of August’s third album Drugs, the follow-up to 2015’s This Thing Called Life.

Last month, August opened up about his forthcoming LP. “I realized how addicted to certain ways of living life I was, addicted to chaos, drama, confusion,” he said. “Lately, for me, it’s been about breaking the cycle and creating a new normal. That new normal is love. I have a newfound addiction. Through love and beautiful women, I’ve been able to find myself, reach higher places within myself.”
