BlocBoy JB & Drake’s “Look Alive” Makes Top 10 Debut on Billboard’s Hot 100

BlocBoy JB & Drake

BlocBoy JB has made history. The Memphis rapper’s “Look Alive” collaboration with Drake debuts at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Released earlier this month, the record makes BlocBoy the first rapper with no prior Hot 100 history to debut in the top 10 since Will Smith’s “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” in 1998. BlocBoy is also the first artist to debut in the top 10 with an initial Hot 100 hit since Harry Styles last year with “Sign of the Times” (debuted at No. 4).

Meanwhile for Drake, his “God’s Plan” smash-hit remains at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for its fourth consecutive week. It’s the first song to tally four weeks of over 75 million U.S. streams. The news comes days after Drake and Director X released the inspirational music video for the song.

Fresh off his curated Black Panther soundtrack debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, Kendrick Lamar’s “All the Stars” record with SZA lands at No. 9 on the Hot 100.

The song surged from No. 31 to a top 10 place, becoming Lamar’s seventh Hot 100 top 10 and second from Black Panther; as “Pray for Me” with The Weeknd debuted at No. 7 last week. SZA meanwhile scores her second Hot 100 top 10 and first as a lead artist; previously reaching No. 9 last November as featured on Maroon 5’s “What Lovers Do.”
