After recently announcing his debut album, BIG BABY D.R.A.M., chart topping singer/songwriter/rapper D.R.A.M. has unveiled the official video for‘Cash Machine’, which is taken from the Virginia based rapper’s debut LP, released on October 21st. The video was shot in Atlanta, directed by Lacey Duke, with no shortage of colourful cash provided by artist Mister E it’s another example of the fun video that D.R.A.M. has become known for. The video’s release comes on the heels of another milestone for D.R.A.M., as his hit single ‘Broccoli’ is now certified 2xplatinum. Watch the video for ‘Cash Machine’, here.
The album features guest appearances from Erykah Badu, Young Thug & Lil Yachty and includes instant fan favourite ‘Cute’ as well as the chart-topping, double platinum single, ‘Broccoli’. Originally released on Soundcloud in March, ‘Broccoli’ currently sits atop Billboard’s “Top Rap Songs” chart, #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is #35 on Spotify’s Global chart. The smash hit has been streamed over 153 Million times and the video has over 53 million views, check it out here. The Lil Yachty-assisted song spent 16 weeks at #1 on Soundcloud’s Global Songs chart, where it currently has over 90 million plays.
D.R.A.M.’s Interview on The Breakfast Club
Throughout the 25-minute interview, the trio talked to the Hampton, VA, native about starting his rap career in a mall, working with Erykah Badu for his debut album, his dog (it’s the golden doodle on the album cover) and more.
He also talked about “Cha Cha,” the success of it and how he felt when Drake pretty much took the beat for “Hotline Bling.” “I took that shit on the chin, and look where we at. We one year later with the No. 1 mothafuckin’ [rap] record,” he said, noting how the success of the song, no matter how much it was stunted by Drake, helped get him onto a platform that he used to jump to where he is now with “Broccoli.”
