Forbes Releases Hip-Hop Cash Kings List, Dr. Dre Tops List

Dr. Dre tops the highest-paid hip-hop artist list with $620 million in earnings.

Forbes unleashed their annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings list today, and although Diddy topped the 2013 list last year, he’s been dethroned by Dr. Dre in a big way. Of course, most of us knew this was coming as Apple buying out Beats Electronics put a sizeable amount of cash in Dre’s pocket.

The highest-paid hip-hop artists are broken down with an estimate of their earnings on this list. Dr. Dre is way ahead of the pack, with $620 million to his name (“the $620 million sum is also more than the remaining 24 names on the Hip-Hop Cash Kings list—combined,” Forbes says). Jay Z and Diddy now tie for second place, each earning $60 million. Whereas last year we saw Nicki Minaj at #4, her spot has now been taken by another Young Money rapper, Drake, with $33 million. Nicki drops to #11 with $14 million earned. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis sky-rocket up the list to #5 with $32 million (for comparison, last year they clocked in at #15 with $9 million).
