Playboi Carti and Lil Uzi Vert’s two collaborations on Carti’s debut project (“wokeuplikethis*” and “Lookin”) proved that the two SoundCloud sensations were a perfect match on record. Both artists have been known to tease their unreleased music on social media, and anyone who’s been watching closely knows the two are sitting on some collaborations, most notably, “Squad (Firearm),” which after much teasing, has surfaced today, as XXL points out.
Overall, the song sounds like more of an outtake from Carti’s mixtape than Uzi’s Luv Is Rage 2. So far, there’s no word on whether it will appear on a project, though there is expected to be a full collaborative project from Uzi and Carti released in the near future. The two were also planning to go on tour together before Uzi announced that he was cancelling the dates to “focus.”
