Macklemore Feat. Kesha “Good Ol Days” Video

Watch Macklemore and Ke$ha in their music video for “Good Ol Days.”

Macklemore dropped off this Gemini record, a collaboration with Kesha, two days ago. As he readies his new album for release tomorrow, he’s decided to follow up the single relatively quickly with the official music video. In between the single and the music video release, we did receive another record, although it’s a leftover cut that didn’t make the final Gemini tracklisting — “Change.”

The whole idea behind the “Good Ol Days” collaboration, if it wasn’t already crystal clear by the title, is to reminisce on past times. In this state of reminiscing, Macklemore not only recalls the good ol’ days, but days that were not-so-good, things he regrets not doing (or doing). All in all, it’s a very nostalgic record, and that’s the exact vibe Macklemore opted for for the music video as well. The visual is retro, and set in the 70s, with splices of ‘old’ footage, shown on a film reel, adding to the nostalgia. In the video, Macklemore and Kesha get hippie on us, riding around in a van and being outdoorsy, wandering beaches, fields, and forest-crowded roads, culminating in a campfire setting (that’s stacked with couches and other indoor appliances), surrounded by smiling faces. Feel-good vibes all around for the piano-heavy single.
