Post Malone’s “Rockstar” Lands No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100

Post Malone now has the No. 1 song in the country. The Dallas rapper’s current single “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage takes the spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this week. Produced by Tank God and Louis Bell, “Rockstar” dethrones Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” which spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The record is Malone and 21’s first-ever chart-topping song, as Post Malone’s previously highest-charting track was the Quavo-featured “Congratulations,” that peaked at No. 8 in July.

“Rockstar” made a huge splash last month, debuting at No. 2 on the Hot 100 and spending three weeks in that position before taking the top spot. It also set a new streaming record on Apple Music, receiving over 25 million plays on the streaming platform, breaking the previous record held by DJ Khaled’s star-studded “I’m the One” earlier this year.

Five of the 10 songs to land No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 2017 have been rap songs, tying for the most in any year. “Rockstar” is the lead single off Malone’s upcoming Beerbongs & Bentley sophomore LP.
