Pusha T on Drake Beef: “It’s All Over With”

Pusha T

Despite setting the stage for a “surgical summer” (and best believe blood has already been spilled), Pusha T has officially deaded his beef with Drake — or more accurately, has been forced to lower his weapon. “These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over,” Push says in a new interview with Vanity Fair. “It’s all over with.” There you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth.

And it seems like you’re going to put out these albums forever. And it seems like the beef is squashed. So is it all for nothing, or what do you think we’re supposed to learn from it?
I don’t even know. I don’t know what was lost or what was gained.

You talked about having a surgical summer with him, peeling the layers back. So it seems like you’ve got more stuff in the tank.
I mean, you know. These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over. It’s all over with.

Do you feel good about that?
Yeah. I mean, listen: I’m ready to be back to the music for real. Just feeding my base, that’s it. That’s the most important thing to me at all times.

The conversations Push is referring to, of course, are those between Drake, Kanye West and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J Prince, who this week revealed that he stepped in and squashed the quickly-escalating spat. Prince said that lines were crossed on Pusha T’s “The Story Adidon” and, after hearing the “ingredients” of Drake’s response track, believed things would’ve gotten even more out of hand.

“It definitely would’ve hurt families and we’re not in it for that. That’s not Drake’s character to tear a man down to that extent,” he told Sway. Guess we’ll have to take his word for it. Though I’m not sure that wins back any points for Drake.

The surgical summer may be over, but at least we’ve still got the rest of the cruel summer to enjoy.
