Trey Songz Pleads Guilty to Misdemeanor Charges, Sentenced to Probation

Trey Songz has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of disturbing the public in court on Friday (Aug. 18). The charges stem from his arrest after refusing to leave the stage during a concert at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena on Dec. 28. The R&B singer was performing at the 4th annual Big Show alongside Lil’ Yachty and Young M.A, when he was informed by show organizers that his set time was up. According to the Detroit Police Department, Songz was belligerent, throwing microphones and speakers from the stage.

Trigga was arrested shorlty after and taken into custody for malicious destruction of property and obstructing arrest. The following morning, Trey was released on a $25,000 bond. On Friday, the charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer, plus aggravated assault were dismissed as part of his plea deal. Trey has been sentenced to 18 months probation, and also must complete anger management classes, submit to substance abuse screenings and pay restitution.
