In their new music video, “Last Gasp,” 38 Spesh and Ransom connect.
Anchored by Mayor, Ty Jamz, and Bernard B Westwood’s soul-sampling loop, the Upstate King and Brick City icon give an insightful look at street life and the legacy they’ll leave before their dying breaths.
“They say, “Ran’, you look young,” they seein’ my face aglow that resembles the greats before Nas, Big’, Face, and Hov / I got a ways to go, but don’t try to give me flowers that took a day to grow,” raps Ransom from inside a room filled with bricks and money, before being joined by his collaborator. “You mix money and power with bitch inclinations / It takes more than money and power to get rid of me,” 38 raps.
“Last Gasp” is from 38 Spesh’s 7 Shots EP, which also includes Che Noir, Freeway, and eto as guests.
