50 Cent Speaks about Signing “One Direction Member” Zayn Malik to Rap Roster

The wealthy and powerful 50 Cent could soon be signing a pop star to his roster, but only on the condition that Zayn Malik from One Direction – the pop star in question – fulfills his desire to shun the genre for which he is known and become a rapper. When speaking to The Sun, 50 Cent, who recently controversially dissed Rick Ross, said of the rapper-in-waiting:

“If Zayn wants a rap career, just because of who he is, he is going to sell records. But if he wants to be credible he has to be with the right people. I’d happily sign him up to my label, mentor him and have him working with the biggest rappers on the planet.”

If that complementary endorsement wasn’t exciting enough for the young Brit, it appears that 50 Cent would team up with Simon Cowell for the venture, which would create a powerful force behind the pop star turned rapper. 50 Cent is quoted to have said:

“I have always wanted to work with Simon, so this could be a joint venture.”

Reports are currently focused on Malik working with the producer Naughty Boy on a solo project. One Direction’s success has been great, achieving number one albums in the U.S. with Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, and Four with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music label.

50 Cent wants a piece of the action, and we can understand why. Although Malik isn’t exactly hip hop yet, he will make 50 Cent, whose TV series Power is set to return, a great deal of money and under the G-Unit leader’s direction he has the best chance of becoming a genuine rapper, which at present seems very unlikely.
