Nigerian born Vancouver based artist Adewolf releases his new single ‘Mastery’.
A galvanizing blend of UK Drill and Afrobeats captures that energetic drive one has on the path to mastering their art. This latest release is the first to come from his highly anticipated six track EP “Lostalgia”, releasing early next year.
While the EP explores Adewolf’s memories of growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, ‘Mastery’ takes a closer look at the golden age of Nigerian football. Adewolf’s stellar lyricism pays homage to the Super Eagles, who took home gold at the Atlanta ‘96 Summer Olympics and cemented themselves as the icons of African soccer. Adewolf captures the relentless energy of the Super Eagles team through gritty passion of drill and the heavy percussion influences of Afrobeats.
“I started writing this song in the thick of the pandemic when times of uncertainty forced me to come face to face with my craft and choose the path to master it. I reminisced a lot on my childhood and moments that gave me that “I can do it” feeling and one of them was seeing the whole country of Nigeria explode with joy when the Super Eagles won the gold at the Olympics
