OVO Sound’s Roy Wood’s is going through Mixed Emotions on his long-awaited project.
The 17-song collection is a reflection on the ups and downs of love as experienced by the Ontario singer. “Insecure” Roy thinks back on “Young Boy Problems” and the stressful times in his relationships (“Don’t Mind Me,” “Don’t Love Me”) and how they made him feel insecure. In other songs he expresses his sorrows (“Bad Bad”) and his joy (“Touch You”).
The songs “Made Mistakes,” “Test What I Know,” “Dime,” “You Ain’t in Da G,” and “I Just Wanna Love” are also included. The songs “Hate Me” (featuring Coi Leray) and “Unsetting” (featuring Vory) and “That Thing” (with Jada Kingdom) all include guest appearances by their respective artists.
Roy Woods’s new album, Mixed Emotions, follows up 2017’s Say Less. His EP, “Dem Times,” was out in 2020.
