Alex Iwobi expands his creative footprint with the release of his debut EP More To Life, arriving under his artist alias 17. Known globally for his impact on the pitch with Fulham FC and Nigeria, this project introduces a different dimension, one rooted in rhythm, reflection and cultural fusion.
Spanning nine tracks, More To Life navigates global rap influences while maintaining a cohesive, polished feel. The sound leans into feel-good and lifestyle-driven rap, elevated by sleek, refined production from EM1X. There’s clarity in the execution; the project feels intentional rather than experimental.
Born in Lagos and raised in East London, 17’s background plays a defining role in the EP’s identity. Afrowave textures run throughout the project, sitting comfortably alongside UK rap, drill and Afrobeats influences. Collaborations with Nigerian artist Fido, 24AM and fellow Premier League footballer and musician Amadou Onana add further dimension, reinforcing the diasporic thread woven across the tape.
More To Life isn’t positioned as a side hobby. It feels like a deliberate step into a broader creative lane, one that shows there’s more than one way to leave a mark.
