Delaware native Aria Bléu premieres the new EP “Familiar Stranger”
The raw textured sounds of her songs invoke feelings of nostalgia while remaining modern and adaptable enough to be considered timeless pieces. Previously known as Kelsea Johnson, she was a Top 24 contestant on NBC’s The Voice, where she gained her initial fan base on Team Alicia Keys. Since then, she has changed her name to Aria Bléu and re-introduced herself to the world through her very honest and relatable music.
Sonically reminiscent of Jill Scott and Ari Lennox, her debut EP, Familiar Stranger takes you on a journey through the 5 stages of a relationship gone sour: the honeymoon phase, being risqué and wild, the break-up, the toxic back and forth, and finally the emotional resolution. Getting deeply personal, reopening old wounds, and sharing intimate, vulnerable moments of her life, Aria puts honesty and transparency at the forefront of her EP. These carefully crafted songs can be described as pieces to the puzzle of her life—allowing you to piece together Aria Bléu, one song at a time.
