In an exciting fusion of genres, Armada Music, the world’s largest independent dance music label, has teamed up with Warner Music Africa and Africori to launch the ‘AMAPIANO TO IBIZA’ EP. This concept project reimagines classic “Ibiza” house tracks through the lens of Amapiano, a genre that has been gaining global traction. The EP’s first single, a fresh reinterpretation of Human Resource’s 1991 hit “Dominator” by South African producers Rosey Gold and Jay Music, debuts today.
The ‘AMAPIANO TO IBIZA’ EP pays homage to Amapiano’s roots in House music by blending iconic classics with contemporary Amapiano sounds. The project features renowned artists like DBN Gogo, Major League DJz, Rosey Gold, Thuto The Human, and 2woBunnies, who have reimagined timeless tracks from Armada Music’s dance catalogue, including works by Blaze, Dennis Ferrer, and Inner City. This innovative approach presents new music through a familiar lens, aimed at captivating dance music fans globally.
“We are delighted to announce this innovative partnership with Warner Music Africa and Africori,” said Maykel Piron, CEO of Armada Music Group. “House music has been adopted and adapted by various genres worldwide over the years, and this project underscores its potential to transcend traditional genre boundaries once again. We are excited to continue our mission to insert creativity into our extensive catalogue and breathe new life into classic dance music.”
