Asha Gold kicked off the concept for “Too Good” by recording a voice note of the pre-chorus and chorus. The next day, Asha finished up the song in around ten minutes on the piano; this being all the reassurance she needed to stay on track with her music career.
Reflecting on that time, Asha Gold says:
“Although deep down I knew I wanted to pursue music, it was impossible to trust myself because it felt like no one was trusting me. I battled with the pressures and opinions of those close to me who I respected, but in the end I had to pull the trigger and decide for myself.”

It’s understandable why Asha Gold faced this initial backlash, considering that she’s the first in her family to outwardly express these creatives ambitions, with no one on either her Mum’s English side or her Dad’s Indian side setting out the jn, my footsteps for her to follow in. That being said, even if you’re not battling with this same decision, Asha believes that…
“Too Good can resonate with people facing any sort of decision – it’s a positive song about backing yourself even when it feels like others don’t. I had to laugh at the situation in the end, and say “I’m too good to be having sleepless nights about this”, it’s going to work out.”
‘Too Good’ was completed with production from Dilush, whose vibrant style accentuates Asha Gold’s intuition for beat-led R&B, electronic and pop lines.
