Praise Bey. The superstar singer is now the owner of a church in New Orleans.
According to TMZ, Beyoncé purchased the 7,500-square-foot house of worship, which is more than 100 years old. The stone-structured building was listed at $850,000, but it’s unclear what she paid.
The church was reportedly built in the early 1900s, but hasn’t been used for some time due to its members passing away. However, it may be in for a revival soon.
Bey has ties to the Big Easy. She shot her LEMONADE visual in the historic city, and her sister Solange lives nearby.
Last month, San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral hosted the first-ever Beyoncé mass. More than 900 people showed up to the service, which featured Bey’s music along with Bible readings, prayers, and communion.
“This is a service that uses Beyoncé’s music as a tool to engender positive, empowering conversation about black women,” explained Reverend Yolanda Norton.
