Birdman Opens Up About Lil Wayne Conflict With Angie Martinez (Part 1)

Birdman speaks to Angie Martinez about his recent disagreements with Lil Wayne.

Birdman and Lil Wayne have been having a very public legal battle over the last few months, and while Weezy has made a point of making statements about his issues with his father figure, Birdman has been silent. The Cash Money co-founder agreed to have a one-on-one with Power 105’s Angie Martinez, speaking candidly of his recent issues with Wayne for the first time.

From Birdman’s point of view, it seems the situation between himself and Wayne is not as serious as the media has portrayed it. He argues that he won’t stand in Weezy’s way if he asks to leave the label (which seems a bit confusing considering the lawsuit), and reveals that the two see each other quite often, but have not spoken face-to-face about their issues.

Some choice quotes:

On Wayne kick-staring everything with his now-infamous Twitter rant:
While he really didn’t go into too much detail about it, Baby did say that was shocked at it. “I’m going to wait for the proper time to get together, and we going to do that,” he responded.

On Nicki Minaj and Drake, and whether or not they’ll remain on the label:
“They’re not going anywhere. Both of them are very happy. I got much respect for both of them.”

On Lil Wayne’s bus being shot, and the subsequent indictment kinda-sorta implicating he and Young Thug:
“That’s the craziest sh*t I heard in my life. My children mean the world to me. There is no indictment on me.”

On if he speaks to Wayne these days:
Baby says that the two see each other in the studio nearly every day, however the two don’t speak (naturally).
