Busta Rhymes Announces Split From Cash Money

busta rhymesBusta Rhymes reveals he’s parted ways with Cash Money Records.

It seems the relationship between Busta Rhymes and Cash Money was a short-lived one. Today Bussa Bus has announced his departure from the Birdman-helmed record label.

Busta Rhymes first connected with the large roster in 2011, but during a recent visit to Shade 45’s Sway In The Morning, he confirmed he’s left the label. He assured fans they left on good terms.

“For me, with this particular project and all of the sacrifice that went into it — recording the album for five years, I lost Chris Lighty making this album, I lost my father making this album. The shit I was putting into this album, I’m not compromising my vision for it. So if I feel like if, in the slightest way, we ain’t facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen through and executed in the way that I’ve been envisioning this shit for the last five years, let me live and die in my own own inequity,” Busta said during the interview, referring to his forthcoming album E.L.E. 2.

He continued, “I just had a conversation with Bird like, ‘Listen, bro. I’m grateful and everything is love with us, but I just gotta see this through the way that I wan’t to see this through.’”
