Busta Rhymes partnered with HOT 97 for their annual “Hot For the Holidays” concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday. The show turned out to be one for ages, as Bussa Buss called on plenty of star power to hit the stage. Mariah Carey, Lil’ Wayne, Puff Daddy, Mary J. Blige, Rick Ross, Lil’ Kim, Jadakiss, French Montana, Fetty Wap, Sean Paul, Method Man and Redman, Raekwon, Naughty By Nature, M.O.P., Sevyn Streeter, and more all performed in support of the legendary MC.
From Lil’ Wayne’s mini medley to Mary J. Blige and Lil’ Kim performing their 1997-collab “I Can Love You,” the event left the packed crowd with some unforgettable moments. The biggest surprise of the night came when Busta Rhymes reunited with the group that started it all, Leaders of the New School. Along with rocking out to some classics with the Long Island-based crew, Busta had another surprise in the bag when all members of A Tribe Called Quest made an appearance.
“Where it all started, Leaders of the New School & a Tribe Called Quest. Thank you for making last night historic!,” tweeted the rap veteran.
