Cardi B Talks Rise to Stardom, Stripping, Nicki Minaj & More on ‘CBS Sunday Morning’

Cardi B was a guest on CBS Sunday Morning recently, where she discussed her childhood growing up in the Bronx, her past stripping career, the grind to becoming a pop star and more. Sitting down with CBS’ Maurice DuBois, the Invasion of Privacy rapper touched on the feeling earning her first No. 1 record with “Bodak Yellow” last year. From there Cardi B touches on the connection she has with her fans and being reachable. The hitmaker gives DuBois a tour of her neighbourhood, Highbridge, where they visit the grocery store she first worked at and later stopped by the strip club where she first started making major money.

The Grammy-nominated star also touched on her beef with Nicki Minaj, and their rift being unnecessary and bad for business. “A lot of people like to say all publicity is good publicity. To me it’s not. That takes away [from] people paying attention to your craft,” she says. Cardi would also talk on trolls, online haters, and is seen making a surprise visit to her old high school.
