Marking the 5th anniversary of her label and event series Abantu, London-based cultural force Charisse C unveils her new project, the Abantu Means People EP. Born from a 2024 recording camp at Baltic Studios, the EP explores Afrohouse in its many forms, weaving stories of love, freedom, and community.
From the emotive title track “Abantu Means People” to sunrise anthem “5 EK’SENI”, the project captures the vibrancy of Africa’s young diaspora while spotlighting Charisse’s growth as a singer, songwriter, and producer. The release also leads into Abantu’s biggest headline show yet at Colour Factory, the only Abantu party of 2025.
