The Congolese-born musician has released an exhilarating album that goes beyond any expectation of modern UK rap, showcasing a remarkable lyrical genius that conveys the struggles and hazards of a young Black creative in London. The EP kicks off with “HOW LOVE HURTS,” a beautiful tune with spacey samples and crisp percussion textures over which his conscious raps address poetic justice upon rising above previous hardship and the arduous path towards self-recognition.
