Dave East and production duo Mike & Keys have joined forces for their upcoming album, “Apt 6E,” and have kicked things off with the release of their new single, “So Much Changed,” featuring singer Stacy Barthe.
The accompanying visual, courtesy of Watch The Screen, follows Dave and Stacy through the streets of NYC, providing a gritty backdrop to Dave’s reflective lyrics. From Rucker Park, Dave cleverly boasts about his rise to success, reminiscing about his upbringing and the challenges he’s overcome.
“Life’s crazy, memories buried, some of them clear / Pops raised me, so did the block, nothing I fear,” Dave raps, showcasing his lyrical prowess and storytelling ability. He continues with poignant lines like, “I’m Swayze / The ghosts of these niggas looking for Demi Moore / The Henny poured when the brodie died, then we did some more.”
“So Much Changed” marks Dave East’s first music release since last month’s EP with producer Harry Fraud, titled “2 Piece,” which featured tracks like “Bacc 2 Harlem” and “Questions.” As anticipation builds for the release of “Apt 6E,” fans can expect more introspective storytelling and captivating production from Dave East and Mike & Keys.
