A few months ago, Lil Wayne filed a $51 million lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money for unpaid royalties. Now, the man himself gets slapped with legal papers over the same reason.
David Banner wants a fat check from Weezy and Young Money for his works on Tha Carter III. Banner claims that he signed a contract with Wayne back in 2008. According to it, he was due to produce two songs for the rapper’s C3 – “La La” and “P**** Monster.” In 2012, he was told by YM he was owed $138,787.19 in royalties, but instead of paying him, they went silent. In addition, he also claims he is owed over $15,392.57 for the 2009 song “Streets Is Watchin” from Young Money’s collective album We Are Young Money.
Unfortunately for Banner, he is not the only producer who is still owed money for his contribution to Tha Carter III. Bangladesh is still looking forward to his check for “A Milli,” among others.
