Denzel Curry — Black Balloons Feat. GoldLink & Twelve’len

GoldLink & Twelve’len

After dropping one of the videos of the year (in terms of spine-chilling imagery, anyway) for “Clout Cobain,” Denzel Curry returns with another sample of his upcoming album TA13OO. On “Black Balloons,” the Carol City riot-starter gets candid about his mental health struggles (“Sky is the limit, I could die in a minute / Got my mind in a skillet, suicide not a mission / See the vibe very timid, I’m timid and very sad”) while calling on GoldLink and fellow Florida native Twelve’len for melodic assistance. Despite the dark subject matter, this one’s definitely more funky and uplifting than everything else we’ve heard from Denzel’s album so far.

TA13OO, which also features J.I.D and JPEGMAFIA, is being rolled out over three days this week: Act I: Lighton July 25; Act II: Gray on July 26; and Act III: Dark on July 27.
