Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the mogul’s bail request, ensuring he will spend Thanksgiving in jail. “The Court finds that the government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community,” Judge Subramanian stated.
Key factors influencing the ruling included allegations that Diddy used firearms and threats of violence to silence victims, with supporting evidence from text messages and the discovery of firearms with defaced serial numbers. Prosecutors also argued that Diddy attempted to manipulate witnesses from jail and influence the jury pool through a social media campaign reportedly orchestrated by members of his family.
With these considerations in mind, the court decided that releasing Diddy posed too great a risk, leaving him to remain incarcerated as his legal battle continues.
