Dr. Dre Named The Highest Paid Musician of 2014 By Forbes

dr dreDr. Dre was the highest paid musician in 2014, raking in $620 million.

Dr. Dre hasn’t come out with any new music in quite a while (although he did co-produce Kendrick Lamar’s 2013 Good Kid m.A.A.d. City and had a verse on the hit-song, “The Recipe”) but that hasn’t stopped him from swimming in cash. Thanks in large part to his Beats By Dre headphones, which Apple bought back in May for a whopping $3 billion making Dre hip-hop’s first billionaire, he’s been named this year’s Highest Paid Musician by Forbes. That’s right, he made more money–$620 million, to be exact–than Justin Beiber, Beyonce, Paul McCartney and One Direction, combined. At that rate, it’s no surprise that he just bought a $40 million house in Brentwood, CA or that he’s building a 10,000 square-foot studio inside of it.
