Ice T broke the news that Dr. Dre has left the hospital and is back home.
After almost two weeks in ICU, Dr. Dre is reportedly back home after suffering a brain aneurysm and being transported to the hospital.
TMZ previously broke the story. “Sources connected to Dre and with direct knowledge tell us, Dre suffered the aneurysm Monday and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU,” the news outlet claimed on Jan. 5.
On Monday (Jan. 11), we also learned that although he was still in the intensive care unit, the legendary 55-year-old hip hop producer’s possibility of having a “bad outcome” because of his previous aneurysm was not longer a threat.
When news broke his Dre’s hospitalization, well wishes spread across social media from fans and friends of his. N.W.A.’s own Ice Cube took the time to share a tweet that read, “Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre” with a photo of the two of them posing when Cube was given his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson, even tweeted: “I didn’t want this to be my first tweet of 2021 but I had to stop working just to say I just prayed for Dr. Dre and his family. Me and my family are with you.”
Even Snoop Dogg — a longtime homie and collaborator of Dre’s — said on IG: “GET WELL DR DRE WE NEED U CUZ” with a video clip of the them performing together. Missy Elliott, Guapdad 4000, and others sent prayers the hitmaker’s way, as well.
Luckily, they’ve seemed to work since he’s back in his crib. Ice T made the announcement on Twitter in a message that said: “Update: Just FaceTimed with @drdre. He just made it home. Safe and looking good.”
Check out that message below and welcome home, Dre! We’re glad you’re doing better.
