Baka is the newest member singed to Drakes OVO Sound.
From the streets to now a record deal. Drake has signed the first rapper to OVO Sound, long-time friend and now artist Baka Not Nice. During a private event with French Montana in New York City on Tuesday (Jun. 27), the 6 God announced the newest addition to his label. In and out of prison over the last decade, Baka transitioned to an artist in 2016, and currently has one of the hottest songs in Toronto with “Live Up to My Name.”
The Scarborough native’s name has been heard various times, including on If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late‘s “Know Yourself.” His voice is also heard on the outro to Nothing Was The Same‘s “From Time” and more recently on Drake’s More Life standout “Gyalchester.” Baka Not Nice joins OVO Sound artists PARTYNEXTDOOR, Majid Jordan, dvsn, Roy Wood$, OB O’Brien, and Plaza.
