Following last year’s massive single ‘Shut Them Down’ featuring Fuse ODG, and the recent ‘Shut Them Down’ remix featuring MoStack and Timbo, British Ghanaian rapper Dun D is proud to debut the brand new video for his latest single ‘Steal My Shine’ featuring fast-rising musician and 2-time MOBO Award nominee Moelogo, and is taken from his highly anticipated forthcoming EP titled Foreign.
The last 18 months have seen Dun D being championed by the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Kiss FM, Capital Xtra, and Beat FM London, while also supporting Fuse ODG on tour, and garnering over 1.5 millions views on YouTube. Alongside the music, Dun D has also launched his own YouTube series Barz In The Whip on Link Up TV, which has featured Rudimental, Eddie Kadi and BET Award winning rapper Sarkodie.
Adding to his more recent string of well-received offerings, which includes ‘War In The Air’ featuring Big Tobz and newly crowned Rated Award winner Abra Cadabra, Dun D’s new single ‘Steal My Shine’ sees the North London artist with Ghanaian heritage, joining forces with producer CeeFigz (J Spades, Tion Wayne) to deliver an instantly infectious, captivating and defiant tune in ‘Steal My Shine’.
For the visuals to accompany ‘Steal My Shine’, Dun D has collaborated with MOBO Award nominated video director Ben Leinster, who has previously worked with Skepta, N Dubz, Chip and Sean Paul, to mention a few. According to Leinster, the ‘Steal My Shine’ video “captures the ‘foreign’ lifestyle, and makes for a powerful visual display, with a strong performance, and captivating colours and imagery”.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Steal My Shine’, Dun D says, “I wrote the song about people not wanting to see others shine, because they fear that we might steal their limelight. As a result of this, they go out of their way to do things that may hold other people back from success. ‘Steal My Shine’ is me at my most defiant, against anyone trying to hold me back from achieving greatness”.
