On “Rule 1,” the first disk, E-40 delivers a whopping 23 tracks featuring a star-studded lineup of guests.
Some standout tracks on “Rule 1” include “Lift It,” “Aye!,” “Bay Warren Buffet,” “Does That Make Sense,” “Succaz,” “Lovin Somebody,” and more. E-40 collaborates with a range of artists, including Larry June, Clyde Carson, Philthy Rich, B-Legit, NBA YoungBoy on “Get My Life Right,” and a double dose of Bay Area flavor with Too $hort and Mistah F.A.B. on “Lemme Go.”
This album marks E-40’s first solo project since “Practice Makes Paper” in 2019. In the interim, he’s been active with collaborative efforts, including the double LP with Too $hort, “Ain’t Gone Do It/Terms & Conditions” in 2020, and the formation of Mount Westmore, a supergroup featuring Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Too $hort, who released their self-titled project last year.
“Rule Of Thumb” showcases E-40’s enduring impact on the rap scene, bringing together a mix of seasoned and emerging talents in the hip-hop industry. With its extensive tracklist and star-studded features, the album promises to be a significant addition to E-40’s extensive discography.
