Ego Ella May Releases Sophomore Album Good Intentions

Ego Ella May Don’t Take My Lover Away
Ego Ella May

Award-winning British-Nigerian artist Ego Ella May returns with her long-awaited second album, Good Intentions. The project marks a significant evolution in her artistry, with Ego taking the lead in production alongside collaborators including Alfa Mist, Beat Butcha, LVTHER, Melo Zed, TAVE and Tom Excell.

Across the album, she weaves together themes of community, liberation, vulnerability and the quiet complexities of everyday life. Lead singles such as “What We Do” (co-produced with Wu-Lu), the broken-beat groove of “What You Waiting For,” the socially reflective “We’re Not Free,” and the tender “Don’t Take My Lover Away” offer insight into the album’s emotional and political depth.

The visualiser for the title track, directed by Jelani Pomell, further expands the album’s intimate world.
