One of the hottest records out right now is Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up.” Originally released last year on the ReadyEP, the record has seen a resurgence currently sitting at No. 6 on the Hot R&B Songs chart and steadily rising on Billboard’s Hot 100. The London-born songstress, signed to DJ Mustard’s 10 Summers Records via Interscope, returns with the music video for her radio hit.
“I didn’t want the video to be overly romantic,” Mai tells Billboard, who premiered the video. “I wanted it to have more of a fun feel: kind of like a date night with the person I’m talking about. There’s a story line but it’s more so about capturing different moments with friends and then just myself and my love interest.” Watch the visual, which features cameos by Khalid and Kamaiyah, below.
