Ella Mai’s breakout year continued this weekend, with her Saturday Night Live debut. The British singer appeared as musical guest for the first-time on the late-night comedy sketch show. Introduced by guest host-actor Steve Carell, the R&B songstress delivered her first performance of the night, singing her platinum-selling hit “Boo’d Up.” Backed by a live band, Ella returned to the stage at Studio 8H for a soulful live rendition of her latest single “Trip.” Both songs appear on the 24-year-old’s self-titled debut album, which features appearances by Chris Brown, H.E.R. and John Legend.
