Future Talks Childhood Dreams, Fame, & The Key To Happiness

Future is the latest rapper to give a memorable interview with Clique.

French media outfit Clique produced GOAT interviews with Young Thug & Travis Scott in 2015. Clique kicks off 2016 with a must-watch interview with Future Hendrix.

Joining interviewer Mouloud Achour in the studio for a chat, Future revealed that he dreamed of being a doctor or an architect as a child. While he ultimately opted to pursue the life of a trapper/lean whisperer, he shared words of wisdom for the kids: “You want to create your own path, no matter what situation you’re in. Don’t matter if you’re rich, poor or whatever, you just want to be able to have your own experiences in life and listen and learn from other people.”

Future spoke extensively on the pitfalls of fame — “It ain’t no way of escaping problems, I mean they just happen and it’s just about how you deal with it” — as well as his influence on the rap game: “If you behind me, I’m not going to look back and try and figure out what you’re doing behind me. I’m not trying to feed off of a concept that another artist had, that’s not what I do.”

Known for such anguished, bottom-of-the-double cup tracks as “Codeine Crazy,” Future shared tips on keeping a sunny outlook on life. “You benefit from just living life the way you want,” he explained. “When you start living life the way you want, you’re way way more happy, your energy way better. When you wake up, you’re feeling happy about certain things, certain things that made you mad, you don’t even let them effect you any more.”

“I deal with what anything I can control, anything I can change,” he continued. “I’m not trying to deal with social media; I can’t control what’s going on on the internet… If I can’t control it, then I don’t worry about it.”
