After releasing the audio on Friday, Gyakie and JBEE have blessed us with the visuals to their amazing new track “Scar.”
The new track “Scar” features the collaboration of Ghanaian afro-fusion singer Gyakie and North London’s rap rising star JBEE.
Gyakie’s aggressive flow over a Sosa-made drill beat featuring JBEE gives birth to ‘Scar,’ a forceful and emotionally packed R&B song laced with Hip-Hop. Gyakie portrays the narrative of a failed love affair from the perspectives of both protagonists, focusing on the anguish felt by her and the uncertainties felt by him. Both singers on “Scar” deliver hard-hitting vocals, and the menacing sound is bolstered by strong 808s, although JBEE’s verse also incorporates some gentler melodies.
Craig Capone, known for his work with artists like Headie One, Sarkodie, Chip, and Ms. Banks on their visuals, and Romara Blake, known for her work with Eva Lazarus, direct the video for “Scar,” which continues the song’s juxtaposition by showing Gyakie and JBEE each telling their side of the love story before coming together in the final scenes.
