After releasing her EP ‘Version 2.0‘ in April and premiering the title track with Mistajam recently, she’s now decided to remix some of the baddest tracks around, starting with Rhianna’s ‘BBHMM‘ and the latest Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Swimming Pools’.
As a classically trained musician who is often on the road playing keys for music royalty such as Jessie J, Rihanna and Gnarls Barkley, Hannah V has become inventive in the way in which she continues to connect with, and increase, her own following. Take a look at her Soundcloud to see the consistent flow of her new productions and if you tune in to Periscope twice a week, you’ll catch Hannah V streaming new music every Monday at 7pm and following up with a vlog of her weekly antics every Thursday at 7pm.
In amongst the depth of the classic R&B and Soul music, you’ll find modern production techniques, dance floor elements, knocking drums, screeching synths and gritty bottom ends. Influenced by fellow producers from the likes of Kanye West, Timbaland, Diplo and Dr. Dre, Hannah V’s eclectic musical talents have earned the attention from further international superstars on stage such as Jason Derulo and Jay Sean.
Having recently premiered ‘Version 2.0’ with MistaJam as his Inbox: FRESH on BBC Radio 1Xtra, (who liked it so much, he spun it twice!); Hannah V is working on a selection ofintriguing remixes, beginning three weeks ago with Rihanna’s ‘BBHMM’. The second remix premiered last night via Periscope and is now available to hear on Soundcloud. A fresh, laid-back, emotive and key-filled version of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Swimming Pools’ the remix is sweet juxtaposition; a beautiful example of Hannah V’s ability to mix her classical training with modern production and a refreshingly personal insight to her state of mind this week:
“I was having a really shitty week. I had to move out of the house that I had called home for the last 5 years. The first place that felt like HOME in over 15 years. And added to that, I was too skint to get effed up! I couldn’t even drink the pain away!! So, instead – this remix was born. I think you can sense the heaviness and sadness in this. The beautiful thing about music is that it is a healer. I feel a million times better after having finished this! I only hope I did King Kendrick justice!”
