The First Week Sales Projections for Adele’s “25” Album Are Insane.
Upon releasing her comeback single “Hello,” Adele made it clear she is going to destroy the charts next week. She already broke three records only a few days after the song saw the light of day – the weekly US digital single sales record, the one-day digital streaming record, and the one-day Vevo record.
As previously reported, the pre-order for Adele’s new album 25 has exceed 200,000 units. Slated for a November 20th, the full-length record is now expected to push between 1.3 and 1.8 million copies in its first week out, according to Billboard. Furthermore, with added streaming numbers, the album could possibly approach the two million mark.
The projections mean 25 would be the first album of 2015 to sell over a million in the first weekly cycle and the first to do so since Taylor Swift’s 1989. Also, it would put her over Britney Spears’ mark of 1.32 million that she set in 2000 with Oops!…. I Did it Again, granting Adele the biggest debut for a female artist in history.
