A man of many surprises, J. Cole sent Twitter and the New York Metropolitan area into a frenzy on Monday (Apr. 16) after announcing a pop-up concert at Manhattan’s Gramcery Theatre. A free show, thousands rushed to the Midtown Manhattan venue where fans could attend on a first come first served basis. No additional details about the show were given except no phones, or bags were allowed inside. The event wasn’t a concert, but instead a listening session where J. Cole announced his new album will be titled K.O.D.. Along with the title, Cole World took to Twitter to reveal the project arrives this Friday (Apr. 20).
According to the Dreamville MC, the 12-track album carries three different subtitles (Kidz On Drugz, King Overdose, Kill Our Demonz) and it was recorded in two weeks. K.O.D. is J. Cole’s first album since 2016’s platinum-selling 4 Your Eyez Only.
