J-Sol – Sober [New Song]

After spending much of 2017 in LA writing and recording a bunch of new material, RnB writer/performer and all-round creative J-Sol returns with new solo music for 2018. The first of which is the instantly catchy ‘Sober’ which premiered on DJ Ace’s BBC 1Xtra show on the day of release. Eager to get back to his own output J-sol explains why he chose to drop this track and what it means to him:

“’Sober’ is the perfect transition into my new sound, I freestyled it in the studio with my producer and we laid it down pretty much on the fly. When I wrote the song, I rarely drank but since writing it, it’s almost like I’m now literally living it! I think a lot of people can relate to having that extra bit of confidence when they’ve had a drink or two down them!”

Showcasing a more well rounded and mature sound, the track acts as somewhat of a reintroduction to J-Sol’s solo material after a period of success across Facebook, after several of his cover videos went viral last year including versions of ‘Wild Thoughts’ (DJ Khaled x Rihanna x Bryson Tiller) and Chris Brown’s ‘Questions’, these 2 alone amassing over 2M plays already on Facebook.

Previous work has seen the young Londoner surpassed 3 million streams on Spotify. His debut EP ‘Genesis’ peaked at #10 on the iTunes R&B chart and included features from Geko, Paigey Cakey, Cashtastic and Jade Ellis. Lead single ‘Keep It On The Low’ featuring Dondria and Sneakbo was championed far and wide by BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, AKA Radio 1, Capital Xtra, Reprezent, MTV The Wrap Up, Link Up TV and much more.

On the live stage, he has performed at the Olympic Stadium alongside Little Mix for The National Lottery and has supported the likes of Boyz II Men, Wretch 32, Bobby Valentino, Chip, and Jeremih to audiences of thousands.

J-Sol is supporting August Alsina on his UK tour – Jan 23rd London, Jan 24th Manchester and Jan 25th Birmingham. He will also be supporting Mila J on her European Tour on March 25th London and Amsterdam March 21st (further Paris date to be announced).
