In support of his new album 4:44, JAY-Z recently sat down for a rare interview on the Rap Radar podcast. During part one of the extensive discussion held at Jay’s 6.3-acre Malibu estate, the Brooklyn mogul opened up on the creation of his 14th No. 1 album, its marketing strategy and filling in so much content into a tight-knit 10-track LP. The discussion also made headlines as the legendary MC also delved into some personal subjects such as the status of his relationship with Kanye West, Solange Knowles who he calls his sister and their elevator fight, Beyoncé and more.
Part two of JAY-Z’s conversation with Elliott Wilson and Brian ‘B.Dot’ Miller dropped exclusively on TIDAL on Friday (Aug. 25). In part two, JAY-Z speaks on 4:44‘s “Smile” and his mother Gloria Carter not approving of the song, naming the newborn twins Rumi and Sir, pushing his tour back for personal time with the twins, love for new artists like Tee Grizzley and Playboi Carti, thanking fellow rappers on Twitter, ending beefs with past foes Jim Jones and Fat Joe, the deaths of Prodigy and Chester Bennington, mental health, meeting Amy Winehouse for the first-time and breaking down his classic albums.
