JAY-Z’s 4:44 has topped the Billboard 200, earning Hov his 14th No. 1 album. According to Nielsen Music, 4:44sold 262,000 equivalent album units (174,000 in traditional sales) since it was released on most streaming platforms (not including Spotify) and retailers on July 7.

4:44 marks the lowest first-week tally of JAY-Z’s career, but that probably doesn’t bother him too much as it still extends his record as the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums in Billboard history (Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand are tied second with 11 each).
Hov is now only five behind The Beatles (19) when it comes to most No. 1 albums overall. Whether he has five albums — let alone five chart-toppers — left in him is another question, even if 4:44 is his best work in years.
With 4:44, which has already been certified platinum, JAY-Z has released 11 consecutive No. 1 solo albums, while also topping the charts with collaborative projects with R. Kelly (Unfinished Business), Linkin Park (Collision Course) and Kanye West (Watch The Throne).
