Manchester’s favourite neo-jazz son Jude the Obscure is back with an uplifting single titled ‘Chapter 8’.
Known for his unique style of music, Jude blesses us with another record “Chapter 8”, blending his smooth rap lyrics over a jazz-themed hip-hop instrumental.
The track follows introductory ‘Strong Enough’, in which Jude’s pensive hip-hop-tied poetry and earthy jazz-soul compositions were praised by the likes of Peachy Magazine, Noctis Magazine, Elevator, Nourish., HRMY Presents and The Other Side Reviews among others.
Below, Jude expresses the meaning and mentality behind the sophomore single:
“Chapter 8 is a feel-good number, shedding the weight of hardships and social disillusion in favour of a more light-hearted take on life. Chapter 8 reinforces the importance of keeping your head above water and overcoming personal struggles, but at the same time reminds us of the need for balance – don’t burn yourself out chasing whatever goal you’re trying to attain.
