The Philadelphia-native also apologized to Judge Brinkley, for calling her a bitch on the song “The Ride.” “I’m don’t wanna be a criminal. I’m not a gangsta. But I’m not a perfect man … I have the potential to be greater than I am today,” said Meek Mill during his testimony. “I walk around with Queen Nicki. Things are different now. I act different. I walk different. I can be the biggest rapper in the world,” he later continued, referencing his superstar girlfriend.
Despite the assurance he has indeed changed, the judge found Meek Mill guilty for violating his parole. “I bent over backwards so he can have free range to grow his career…It didn’t work out,” Brinkley stated, revealing Meek Mill submitted cold water for urine test and broke travel restrictions both a “technical violation” of probation.
The judge has set a sentencing date of February 5, banning the rapper from all performances, even in his hometown of Philadelphia. Meek Mill’s original probation comes from a drug and gun conviction dating back to 2009, which has been violated various times, more recently when the rapper took an unplanned trip with Nicki Minaj reports TMZ.
Following the news, Chris Brown took to Twitter, voicing his opinion on the matter in support of Meek Mill.
