Julian Perretta & Lil Baby Team Up On New Song “Pony”

Lil Baby and British singer/songwriter Julian Perretta join forces on the new remake to Ginuwine’s most popular “Pony.”

After a string of solo hits across Europe, and from working with producers like Mark Ronson to touring with Beyoncé as well as childhood friend Ed Sheeran, 2019 is set to be a big year for Julian Perretta. The British singer/songwriter returns with a highly anticipated remake of Ginuwine’s 1996 hit “Pony” featuring Atlanta-born trap superstar Lil Baby.

“I decided to make a cover version of this record because I fell in love with this song while being on tour with Ed Sheeran.” Recorded by Perretta and arranged by Sheeran, the new instrumentals are hardly reminiscent of the original Timbaland synthesizer hook, and convey a whole new feeling and sound.

Lil Baby’s verses add another modern twist to the classic track, while Perretta’s emotional vocals shine, delivering a unique trap pop flow. The two came up with the idea of collaboration after Perretta posted a re-work of Lil Baby’s track “Pure Cocaine”. “Pony” marks Lil Baby’s first team work with a pop artist.
