One of the most critically-acclaimed rising producers in the UK, Juls – aka “Juls Baby” – drops his highly anticipated new release “Maayaa”. A gorgeous, sun-drenched instrumental conjures immediate Afrobeat and highlife themes showcases enlightened bars from Tiggs Da Author and Nigerian Alté star Santi – a true slow-burn heater for the summer. Speaking on the track, Juls states: “‘Maayaa’ is a love song; men rarely express their love for their other half and I wanted to create something to depict that in a smooth and sensual way.”
Juls is considered one of the hottest producers in the scene right now and has played a major role in the rise of the Afro-pop movement with his hit singles “Bankulize” and “Skin Tight” with Mr. Eazi, and hits with Burna Boy and Wande Coal as well as Stefflon Don, Kojo Funds and most recently with Not3s on “Bad”. The producer and artist’s first release of the year places him firmly as both tastemaker and leader of a progressive, authentic sound that’s influencing the UK scene on an unprecedented scale. With DJ sets already performed at Afrochella in Ghana, Pan Afro Link in NY, and Culture Fest at The Roundhouse in London, 2019 will see Juls at the inaugural Ends Festival on 1 st June at Lloyd Park, Croydon. It also marks the tipping point year for one of the most innovative and highly respected beatmakers coming out of London.
