The Yeezy Boost 750 high-top and Yeezy Boost 350 low-cut became an instant high-demand and coveted sneaker in 2015, becoming an instant hit and talk in fashion and pop culture. Celebrities, athletes, influencers, and fashionistas worldwide were all drawn to the two models, specifically the 350, whose sleekness became a hit.
Dressed in all-black, Kanye delivered another colorful speech while accepting his award. “If you don’t like profanity-laden speeches that end in a Presidential bid, I suggest you go to the bathroom now,” a smiling West said at the podium.
“I care about product. I’m dead serious for what I create as an artist in this lifetime,” he said. “It’s a spark that I want to bring joy. And just like when my daughter is singing and jumping around—she might not be finishing her sentences perfectly, but she’s brining so much joy. And I know that she’s going to grow up and be amazing. So you can see a spark in the pieces I do so that one day they can’t grow up and be amazing.”
“So well deserved! Congrats babe on winning Shoe of the Year Award! I see how hard u work & how meaningful this is!,” tweeted Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian West, who wasn’t present at the event.
A sneaker that dominated the market in 2015, creating a high demand leading to crashed websites, high resale value and mobs in stores, new colorways of the Yeezy Boost 750 and 350 are rumored to be releasing around the holidays.
