Kid Cudi caused a stir on Wednesday afternoon (Sep. 14) with a Twitter rant, where he praised artists like A$AP Rocky and Travi$ Scott but later threw shots at Kanye West and Drake.
Continue after the jump….
“I need yall to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clowns know Im bout to crush their entire existance. Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them,” said an angry Cudi. “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These ni**as dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me. Ni**as keep you close when they see how powerful you are by yourself. When they see your greatness. Out of fear,” he later continued.
Hours after that rant on social media, Kanye West’s “Saint Pablo” tour pulled into the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. During his performance of G.O.O.D. Music’s “Don’t Like” remix, Kanye broke into a screaming rant of his own, firing back at his former protégé according to various people in attendance.
“Kid Cudi don’t ever mention Ye name..,” said Yeezus to the packed crowd. “I birthed you…we all dealing with that emo shit all the time…me, [Plain] Pat, Don C. Don’t ever mention ‘Ye name, don’t try to say who I can do songs with. You made mad because I’m doing songs with Drake?, can’t nobody tell ‘Ye who to do songs with. Respect the God.”
“You know how many people wish they could be signed to G.O.O.D. Music, get they life changed? Have that opportunity? Never forget that. I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we’re two black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first. I got called names before you, bruh. Why y’all got to come at me? This ain’t the end of the Malcolm X movie. I’m out here fighting for y’all: creatives, artists, independent thinkers. Don’t never mention my name in a bad manner. None of y’all!.”
